The Morning After

President Obama’s address to the joint session last night reassured me, if nothing else, that this man has the ability to lead.  The path defined for Universal Health Care is a sell-out to the Insurance Special Interest but getting forward movement on this issue is a dream come true for Americans with conscious.

From the heart of the deep south the bigotry of South Carolina’s Republican Joe Wilson screaming, “You Lie” in response to the President’s reassurances that illegal immigrants would not be covered or receive treatment under this proposed health care system speaks volumes of politics as usual in Washington and how far we still have to go to achieve equality in the USA.

Insurance Companies are on notice now that the denial of services, the annual or lifetime caps on treatments and the pre-existing conditions foundation for denial of coverage are going away.

The position of the President isn’t unexpected considering the stranglehold of Insurance Company money on Capitol Hill buying the elected whores who pander to their own pockets rather than address the needs and welfare of the nation.  That’s Washington politics as usual. This does, however, represent a step in the right direction and is worthy of support.

Our President receives high scores from me for addressing the incessant bickering and the bald faced lies that are bandied about to prevent any positive movement in resolving the issue of health care reform or providing universal health care for Americans.
