A Rainy Day In Georgia

The above is one of my favorite blogs on the internet.  The piece Joe picked up on “Billionaires for Wealthcare” is flawless satire only possible in the USA.  The Million Moron March on Washington provides all of us with a rich foundation for humor but illustrates that the Klu Klux Klan, John Birch Society, Birthers and, only possible in America ignorant crazies, are very alive and well and working to build their Nazi nation with the bi-polar Glenn Beck and Fox News at the helm.

The predominantly white geriatric crowd of ultra-conservative, ignorance founded mob of 75,000 that gathered in the Capitol Basin flooding Pennsylvania Ave with bovine excrement is a spectacle that I will absolutely treasure for the remainder of my days as the memories of the battle cries from these crazies keep a permanent grin on my face.  Most notable are:

“I want the government out of my Social Security.” from the lady who just wants government out of her life period.

One of the organizers in his Medicare-provided wheel chair protesting against “government health care.”

The lady who “pays out the wazoo for health insurance” but doesn’t want any health care reform or insurance industry regulation.

Out of this collection of racist, ultra-conservative crazies the clear agenda of hate and working to delegitimize the office of the President of the United States of America is the only clear message that this human came away with.  Overwhelmingly, my peers and I came away with a sense of deep disappointment and outright embarrassment for America.

This display of protest from the Million Moron March on Washington demonstrated clearly to me that the conservative right is unable to address the issues, has the lowest common denominator of hate as a root cause and is hell-bent on maintaining a status quo that is the sell out of America to the corporate greed that rules now.

There is no discussion of health care reform.  There isn’t an honest address of the real issue that is insurance industry reform and you bet that the greedy insurance corporations want to maintain the cash cow of the American public.  It is in the insurance industry’s best interest to dig even deeper into American’s pockets by getting the US Government to provide vouchers to pay for their outrageously costly insurance premiums while continuing to deny service and to exclude those who really need health care to drive their excessive profits to meet the faceless demands of Wall Street greed that rules this once great nation.

Our centrist President has failed to provide clear leadership and this is understood because he is the consummate politician bought by the corporate interests that have raped all of us.  Like any and all of the politicians he has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo of Washington politicians being purchased by corporate special interests and panders to those who own him at the expense of the American citizen.  It’s more business as usual on Wall Street, the “too big to fail” banks have gotten bigger and the interests of the middle class, the working poor, the small business people are sold out again.  There is no change in Amerika.
