Happy Hump Day

Here’s a demonstration of why the Nation is where it is today:

The Michelle Bachmann, Right-Wing Cult of Jesus Crazy and “Con”servative mental midget rambling on about how dangerous the Census is in the USA on the Mormon Clown’s platform.  Go Figure…  Wanna buy some gold?  How’s that advertizing revenue going for you Rupert?

In an “office discussion” today the topic of Socialism was broached in a fun and sensitive way by a co-worker.

Let’s come to an understanding of what the term means to begin with.  Socialism according to Miriam Webster on-line is:

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

My vote is for #3 with the Corporate Communists controlling Washington, DC and the Wall Street and Banking greed driving the rape of the US Treasury.

Collectivism is also bandied about in the fear-mongering from the Right-Wing and from the Libertarians and this too is defined by Miriam Webster on line as:

1 : a political or economic theory advocating collective control especially over production and distribution; also : a system marked by such control
2 : emphasis on
collective rather than individual action or identity

And then we have Communism defined as:

1 a : a theory advocating elimination of private property b : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
2 capitalized a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics b : a totalitarian system of
government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production c : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably d : communist systems collectively

Democracy is, according to Miriam Webster:

1 a : government by the people; especially : rule of the majority b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
2 : a political unit that has a democratic government
3 capitalized : the principles and policies of the Democratic party in the United States <from emancipation Republicanism to New Deal Democracy — C. M. Roberts>
4 : the common people especially when constituting the source of political authority
5 : the absence of hereditary or arbitrary class distinctions or privileges

Oligarchy again as defined by Miriam Webster:

1 : government by the few
2 : a government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes; also : a group exercising such control
3 : an organization under oligarchic control

Marxism is also defined and thrown about in conversation without much of an understanding of the meaning.

1: the political, economic, and social principles and policies advocated by Marx; especially : a theory and practice of socialism including the labor theory of value, dialectical materialism, the classstruggle, and dictatorship of the proletariat until the establishment of a classless society

Now having a “classless society” sounds like a pretty Democratic idea to me.

Here is a brief, as brief as is possible on this topic of Democracy in America as per Tocqueville.  This video is 50 minutes long so you may want to come back and listen when you have the time.

OK, you’ve all heard my rants about the “Corporate Communists,” the “Oligarchy” and “Socialism” in the United States.  What hasn’t been heard is the clear statement of my libertarian views on individual liberty and the mythology of Democracy today as driven by the United States Government that exists today.

How does one judge the success, failure or practice of Democracy within the United States today?

Starting with the process of democracy that is the foundation, the vote, let’s look at the actual historic Voter turn-out in the United States’ Presidential Elections from 1960 forward:

Presidential Elections are in bold.

With 40% and oftentimes 60% or more of the eligible voters making active choices not to vote in the representation of his/her government do we really have a functioning democracy?

This burning question has driven me from youth to push anyone and everyone I know to do their civic duty and vote in local, State and National elections each and every time the opportunity presents.  Without voting you are handing your government over to the Right-Wing, the Cults of Jesus Crazies and the Oligarchy that would have you as slave.  Bush proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt and he stole the first election and was proudly purchased for the second.  That paid off well for Wall Street and the Bankers that own him.

It’s bad enough that we don’t have one person, one vote for the Presidency of the United States but rather rely on an electorial college with all of the Machiavellian mechanization of that process.  But, to those who absolutely abrogate their right to vote I have no sympathy.  If you don’t like something then vote to change it.  If you haven’t voted then you are the problem not the solution.

To get back on topic here; we are not a fully democratic society.  We accept and hold dear a socialist system of medicine in the Medicare, Medicaid and Veteran’s Administration Hospital systems and these work.  Ask anyone 65 or older about the quality of care that they receive under Medicare, ask those less fortunate within this society how the care is that they’ve received under Medicaid and you’ll hear the life-saving gratitude of this safety-net program.  The Veteran’s Hospital System has faced some real challenges but those have been endemic to the institutional nature of this care and the Military mindset behind it.  Those too are being repaired though.  It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it is progress.  That the United States is without a Universal Health Care system, entirely dependent upon the “making money off of illness” mindset of greedy Oligarchs is despicable and an American embarrassment.

We have a socialized transportation system started by Dwight Eisenhower without any fears of “Socialist take-over.”  Of course McCarthy thought that Eisenhower was a communist anyway.  Prior to that, FDR and the WPA delivered socialized assistance to horribly suffering citizens because of the “Monied Elite” or “The Money Trust” playing games with the economy, then the same as now, had the nation in depression.  Do we expect President Obama to play this Socialist game of Workforce America in a self-fulfilling prophesy from the Oligarchy that delivered us into this evil time with their obscene greed?

General Motors is now Socialist in the strictest definition and the world hasn’t fallen apart.

We’ve lived with a Socialist Utility System for over a century and the world hasn’t fallen apart.

If one believes the doom-mongers, the greedy Oligarchy that brought us to the brink of destruction and nearly toppled the world Banking system (that may not be a bad thing) then Capitalism is King and they are the privileged few who hold court to the God-Almighty Dollar as Goldman Sachs says: “Doing God’s work.”

Dumb as a Box of Rocks Bush delivered our US Treasury to the Oligarchs in one fell swoop and set us on a course of sure bankruptcy with his lies and war and murdering.  Cheney demonstrated the clear intent of the Oligarchs with his torturing and the American people sat on their over-fed lazy asses watching their savings be stolen, their lives and lively hood pissed away in the sands of the deserts of the Middle East because of “Terrorist Attack” and not one is able to grasp that the biggest terrorists are Wall Street, the Bankers and the Corporate Communists who have purchased the political process in the United States.

The Cults of Jesus are a distraction not worthy of becoming concerned over because they will die of their own hate just as the Republican Party has died from the hate the Cults of Jesus have hijacked it with.

The clear focus is the Corporate Communists, Wall Street and Banking Greed that are now the primary enemy within the United States.  Without regulation, strong regulation, to put these greedy creeps into the box they deserve; without competition and only by understanding prison terms on a personal basis will these Corporate Communists be stopped from ruling the USA.  Look at the conditions in Honduras to see your future unless you wake up and do what has to be done now.

Americans must get informed, make clear decisions, take back the Senate and Congress and get the Oligarchs out of Politics.  The era of Purchased Politics has to die and die quickly if we are to remain free.

Americans have to push campaign reform, the death of Lobbyists, PACs and Corporate Contributions to elected officials.  Let’s go all socialist and ban contributions over $100 to any one political candidate, $1,000 to any party and make the Corporate Communists play by those same rules.  We each pay $1 to be equally divided among all the Senate, Congressional seats and the Presidential campaign and they can either live within the budget or not.  It’s time we have politicians who understand budgets, fiscal responsibility and the demands of the voting public in representation of their interests rather than the Wall Street, Banking, Insurance, Oil, Coal, Energy or Auto interests.

We must end the wars and bring our troops home now.

We must end the Drug War that is a war against the American Citizens and creates anti-American sentiment from Mexico, Columbia, Honduras and all of Central  and South America where we are depriving indigenous humans of the ability to live by poisoning their environment with herbicides and destroying their crops; delivering millions into starvation and refugee status on an insane prohibition.  Our acts have consequences globally and it’s long past time that America becomes a good global citizen.  With what we spend on the failed prohibition of the Drug War and imprisoning persons of color we can provide the Green Energy Solutions to the world and educate all Americans through graduate degrees. There’s real change you can count on.

We must end the insanity of Foreign Aid to Israel that continues to inflame rather than become a good neighbor with cessation of the West Bank Settlements.

Why are we still providing foreign aid to Saudi Arabia or any of the oil producing nations?

Why do we maintain military bases around the world?  Let’s turn these military bases into education centers and green energy industrial parks and get the local populations working to bring themselves into a standard of living that is healthy, safe and sane.  That’s foreign aid that works in the real world.  That’s American know-how and inventiveness in action.

We must invest in the Third World Green Infrastructure as we rebuild our infrastructure to be Green and do it now.

We must provide a real hand-up and once again become the America that is trusted, loved and fully restored to leadership by example.

We must do everything in our power to heal the ecology of this beautiful planet because the reality is that we aren’t going to find anyplace else better to live quickly enough to save our sorry polluting consumerist asses if we don’t.

We have a progressive President who is able to provide leadership, funding and direction to the Greening of America, the restoration of the American Middle Class and whom we must drive to put the hammer down on the Banking Industry, Wall Street and the Corporate Communists by breaking up the “too big to fail” and taxing the obscene profits made from slave labor in Honduras and child labor globally.
We must claw back the multi-million dollar bonuses from Wall Street, Banking and Insurance greed and apply these bonuses raped from the United States Treasury directly to active small business loans throughout the USA and tell the “too big to fail” to go fuck themselves big time.

We have a President who is able to make a difference and we must push, push hard and loudly, to restore the American Middle Class, provide Universal Health Care, Universal education and Universal opportunity to America once again.
